Breaking the silence, promoting dignity & healthy practices

On 29 May 2026, Agragami India, with the support of HCL Foundation under the Uday Project, Noida, observed World Menstrual Hygiene Day through a series of community-based awareness sessions in Hosiyarpur, Chotpur, Chijarsi, and Jalpura.

A total of 56 adolescent girls actively participated in 4 small group discussions focused on menstrual hygiene management, health awareness, and breaking myths and taboos associated with menstruation.

Key Discussion Points:-

Importance of menstrual hygiene and safe practices.
Prevention of infections such as UTIs through proper hygiene.
Changing sanitary pads/cups every 4–6 hours.
Safe disposal of used sanitary products.
Maintaining personal cleanliness using clean water.
Importance of nutrition, iron-rich food, rest, and exercise during menstruation.
Benefits of maintaining menstrual cycle records for better health monitoring.

The sessions encouraged open conversations, improved awareness, and strengthened confidence among adolescent girls to manage menstruation safely and with dignity. Participants actively engaged in discussions and demonstrated enthusiasm throughout the activity.
