Agragami India’s Tarrakki clubs facilitated the celebration of the 80th Independence Day in all seven intervention villages of Basadhi Panchayat. A total of 292 adolescents actively participated and used the occasion to promote patriotism, responsible citizenship and community action. Club members created awareness on higher education, street sanitation and cleanliness, support for vulnerable people, access to health facilities and government schemes, and prevention of child marriage and early childbearing. The celebration provided adolescents with an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, work collectively and contribute to addressing community issues. Parents, PRI members, ASHA workers, Anganwadi Workers and other community members also participated, strengthening intergenerational engagement and community support for adolescent-led initiatives. The activity demonstrated the growing capacity of Tarrakki Club members to move beyond participation in club activities towards meaningful social action, community service and responsible citizenship, reinforcing Tarrakki Clubs as platforms where adolescents can participate, lead and contribute to positive change in their communities.
