In collaboration with the HCL Foundation (the CSR wing of HCL Tech) and the Noida Health Department, Agragami India is working at the grassroots level to improve access to essential health services for couples, mothers, and children. The initiative aims to empower eligible couples to make informed decisions—such as maintaining an appropriate interval between the births of their children and adopting temporary or permanent family planning methods—so that they can lead happy, worry-free lives with their families. As part of this initiative, the field team conducted a ‘line listing’ of households in selected areas and identified newlywed couples. Specifically, they focused on couples where the wife is under 20 years of age and the couple does not yet have children. Engaging with the community, the team counseled these couples on the importance of planning for children, the ideal age for parenthood, and the necessity of mutual consent between spouses. They also provided guidance on the use of effective and consistent contraceptive methods until the couple decides to have a child, and facilitated their access to these contraceptive supplies. In September, we achieved the following:Our field team conducted regular door-to-door outreach, reaching 48 young couples and providing them with counseling on family planning and other health-related topics tailored to their specific needs.
