Agragami India is implementing livelihood development activities across 35 villages in five panchayats of Bodhgaya block, Bihar. During field visits, the Livelihood Team identified the need to increase awareness about agriculture and livestock-based livelihoods among rural communities. To address this, the team organised school awareness programmes focusing on the importance of agriculture and livestock in Bihar’s rural economy. The sessions also covered climate change, employment opportunities, and natural farming practices. The programme aimed to encourage students to recognise agriculture and livestock as important sources of livelihood and sustainable rural development. It also sought to motivate students to share their knowledge with their families and communities, extending awareness from schools to society. A total of six high and middle schools were covered, reaching 412 students. The students actively participated in the sessions, demonstrating interest in the topics discussed and contributing to the programme’s overall success.
