As part of the ongoing Khushali Livelihood Project, a PPR vaccination drive was conducted across 7 villages of Bodhgaya Block, benefiting 345 goats during the last week.
Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) is a highly contagious viral disease that can cause severe illness and mortality among goats and sheep, leading to significant economic losses for small and marginal livestock farmers. Vaccination helps protect goats from PPR and strengthens their resilience against the disease.
The vaccination drive has not only helped safeguard livestock but has also increased farmers’ confidence in goat rearing as a source of livelihood. By protecting their animals, the intervention helps reduce the risk of sudden livestock losses and supports more secure and sustainable household incomes.
