Anaemia remains a significant public health challenge in Bihar, with 65.7% of adolescent girls affected according to NFHS-5 and approximately 61% of adolescent girls in Gaya district suffering from the condition. To address this issue, Agragami India, through the Tarakki Project, implemented awareness, capacity-building, and advocacy initiatives in Basadhi Panchayat, empowering adolescent club members to advocate for regular access to Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFS). Club Office Bearers engaged with health and education officials through a series of meetings between November 2025 and April 2026, advocating for the availability of WIFS tablets in schools. As a result of these sustained efforts, WIFS tablets became available in all middle and high schools of Basadhi Panchayat by May 2026. Subsequently, orientation sessions were conducted for students on anaemia prevention and proper tablet consumption, while designated teachers were assigned to oversee distribution. This achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of adolescent-led advocacy in strengthening access to essential health services and promoting anaemia prevention among adolescents.
