The Gram Sabha plays a key role in establishing crèche centers under the Panchayati Raj system to support working mothers. In Mohanpur block, Gaya district, Bihar, five Gram Panchayats—Musaila, Gopalkeda, Dharhara, Bagula, and Shiryawan—have identified childcare needs through community discussions. The Gram Sabha is also responsible for selecting caregivers, ensuring transparency and community ownership. Crèche Committees, including local representatives and ASHA workers, ensure safe spaces, nutrition, and early development for children aged 7 months to 3 years. Our NGO supports this initiative through community orientation and coordination, promoting child welfare, women’s empowerment, and sustainable village-led childcare systems.
